The work

A space most consulting firms haven't entered yet.

At Dalmagne Performance, you will work at the intersection of hospitality and technology — a space most consulting firms haven't entered yet.

You will evaluate robotic solutions, redesign workforce models, walk hotel floors, and present to PE investment committees. You will see your recommendations implemented, not filed.

You will be part of a practice that believes the hospitality industry's greatest transformation is just beginning — and that the people who navigate it thoughtfully will define the next generation of great operators.

Profile

What we look for.

Hospitality instinct

You understand the rhythm of a hotel, a restaurant, or a guest experience. You've worked the floor, or you've spent enough time there to know what it feels like from the inside.

Technology curiosity

You're excited by robotics, automation, and the operational redesign they enable — not intimidated by them. You read the trade press and you've formed views.

Analytical rigour

You can build a model, structure a problem, and tell a story with data. You know the difference between a number that matters and one that just looks impressive.

Human awareness

You know that every automation decision affects real people and you factor that in — not as a constraint to minimise, but as the point of the whole exercise.

Clear communication

You write well and speak plainly. You can take a complex operational finding and explain it to a hotel owner who has never read a consulting report in their life.

Languages

English and French are essential. German, Arabic, Korean, or other languages are a genuine advantage for our geographic footprint.

Pre-hiring Internship — Open · May 2026

Technologist Intern

Apply by email
Paris, France · hybrid with client sites (Europe) Start: July 2026 (tentative) · 2–6 months Language: English (required) · French a plus EU work authorisation preferred

The role

We are looking for an engineering student — specialised in digital tools, software or hardware — to work alongside our consulting team on real client engagements. You will evaluate automation solutions, benchmark technology vendors, support client-facing assessments, and help translate technical findings into strategic recommendations. This is not an admin internship: you will do the work.

This is a pre-hiring internship. Interns who perform well over the course of the engagement will be considered as priority candidates for a permanent role as the practice grows. We view the internship as a mutual audition.

What you will do

  • Research and benchmark hospitality automation technologies — robotics, IoT sensors, PMS integrations, AI scheduling tools
  • Conduct technology audits at client sites across Europe (some travel required)
  • Support automation readiness assessments and diagnostic fieldwork
  • Produce vendor comparison analyses and technical feasibility notes
  • Contribute to client deliverables alongside the senior consulting team

What you will learn

  • How to structure and conduct technology assessments in live operational environments — a skill set rarely developed in engineering programmes
  • The full hospitality technology landscape: PMS, POS, RMS, channel managers, IoT infrastructure, and how they interconnect in practice
  • How to translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical decision-makers
  • Consulting methodology: problem structuring, workstream management, and client communication in a real engagement context
  • How automation decisions are evaluated, piloted, and scaled — from feasibility through deployment and performance monitoring
  • What a senior-level consulting delivery looks like from the inside, across multiple client contexts simultaneously

Compensation

Monthly gratification: €700 – €900 gross, depending on profile (above the legally required minimum for internships of two months or longer).
Restaurant vouchers and 50% public transport reimbursement provided in accordance with French law.

Who we are looking for

  • Engineering student (software, hardware, digital systems, mechatronics or related) — preference for European programmes
  • Genuine curiosity about how technology transforms real operational environments
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken — required); French a meaningful advantage
  • Eligible to work in the EU
  • Comfortable working independently and in small, senior teams

Permanent — Open · May 2026

Senior Technologist

Apply by email
Paris, France (primary) · client sites (Europe & GCC) Permanent · full-time English required · French or Arabic a plus Schengen area (EU) right to work required — no sponsorship

The role

We are looking for an experienced technologist to conduct rigorous technical assessments of the software, hardware, platforms, and integration layers that define how modern hospitality businesses operate. This is a senior, full-time position suited to a practitioner who wants to apply deep technical expertise at the intersection of hospitality strategy and technology architecture.

In a large firm, a Senior Technologist executes within a defined lane and hands findings upward. Here, you own the architecture. You decide how we evaluate solutions, how we structure and run pilots, and how we advise clients on technology investment. The work you produce goes directly to ownership and investment committees — without layers in between.

What you will do

  • Conduct technical assessments of hospitality technology stacks — PMS, POS, channel managers, revenue management systems, IoT infrastructure, and integration middleware
  • Evaluate software and hardware solutions against client operational requirements and industry best practice
  • Assess integration architecture and identify gaps, redundancies, and failure points across platform layers
  • Explore and evaluate emerging technology solutions — including AI applications and service robotics — with genuine curiosity and a practitioner's critical eye
  • Design and run rapid prototypes of candidate solutions during pilot phases, moving quickly from concept to testable implementation
  • Monitor live deployments, analyse performance data, and iteratively redesign solutions based on operational learnings
  • Produce structured technical findings that translate directly into strategic recommendations for non-technical audiences
  • Work alongside strategy consultants to bridge the gap between technical capability and operational reality

Who we are looking for

  • Significant hands-on experience in technology assessment, systems architecture, or platform integration — hospitality or adjacent service industries (retail, logistics, aviation) strongly preferred
  • Deep familiarity with hospitality technology categories: PMS, POS, RMS, CRS, CRM, housekeeping management, F&B systems, IoT, and API/middleware layers
  • A genuine, active curiosity about emerging technology — particularly AI and robotics applications in service and hospitality environments — and a track record of staying ahead of the field
  • Comfortable designing and running quick-cycle pilots: standing up a prototype, learning fast, and adapting the design before scaling
  • Able to produce clear, non-technical summaries of complex findings for operator and investor audiences
  • Comfortable working independently across concurrent client contexts
  • English required; French or Arabic a genuine advantage
  • Must be eligible to work in the Schengen area (EU/EEA) without visa sponsorship

Compensation

Base salary: €75,000 – €85,000 gross per annum, depending on experience.
Performance bonus: target €15,000 – €25,000 per annum, tied directly to client outcomes and your personal contribution — not a formula applied from above.
The bonus structure is designed to reflect what you actually produce. In a boutique, the link between your work and the firm's results is direct and visible — which is why the upside here is structurally different from what a large firm can offer.

Permanent — Open · May 2026

Senior Consultant

Apply by email
Paris, France (primary) · client sites (Europe & GCC) Permanent · full-time · 3–5 years experience English required · French strongly preferred Schengen area (EU) right to work required — no sponsorship

The role

We are looking for a senior consultant with 3 to 5 years of experience who can operate with genuine autonomy — structuring complex problems, leading client engagements from diagnostic through to delivery, and building trusted relationships with hotel owners, operators, and investors. The ideal candidate brings the analytical rigour of a strategy consulting or investment banking background together with a real interest in the hospitality and leisure sector.

The work spans the full range of what this practice does: automation and robotics strategy, technology business cases, asset portfolio optimisation, workforce redesign, and financial performance improvement. At the core of every engagement is a question that matters: as Industry 5.0 reframes the relationship between humans and machines, how do service businesses preserve and amplify the human value that no technology can replace? You will live that question with clients — advising on where to automate, where to invest in human capability, and how to make both work together.

This is not a role where you wait two years to run your first workstream. From day one, you carry engagements, shape recommendations, and have direct client relationships. Dalmagne Performance is building a practice in a sector that is genuinely underserved by serious consulting — and the people who join now will define what that practice becomes.

What you will do

  • Lead client engagements end-to-end — from initial diagnostic and problem structuring through to final recommendations and implementation support
  • Build technology business cases, automation ROI models, and asset portfolio optimisation frameworks for hotel owners and PE investors
  • Advise on automation and robotics strategy: where to deploy, how to sequence, and how to redesign the workforce around what technology takes over
  • Develop perspectives on Industry 5.0 as it applies to hospitality — how human value evolves in service environments as automation advances, and how operators should position for it
  • Build financial models, operating frameworks, and strategic roadmaps that are rigorous, actionable, and designed for real operators
  • Manage multiple workstreams and client relationships concurrently with limited supervision
  • Present findings and recommendations to ownership, C-suite, and investment committee audiences
  • Leverage AI tools confidently and creatively throughout your work — for research, analysis, synthesis, and draft production
  • Contribute to business development — proposal writing, sector research, and relationship management
  • Help develop the intellectual foundations of the practice: methodologies, sector perspectives, and published Perspectives content

Who we are looking for

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in a relevant context (see below)
  • Prior experience at a leading strategy consulting or advisory firm (MBB, Alvarez & Marsal, L.E.K., Strategy&, Kearney, Oliver Wyman, HVS, or equivalent) or in investment banking (J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Rothschild, or similar tier)
  • Alternatively, a strong HR or organisational consulting background with demonstrable experience in hospitality or service industries
  • Educated in business, economics, or engineering from a leading academic programme — French grandes écoles (business or engineering), a leading European university, or an internationally recognised equivalent
  • Able to structure and solve complex operational and financial problems independently, without requiring step-by-step guidance
  • Genuine interest in the hospitality, tourism, or leisure sector — either through prior advisory work or direct operational exposure
  • Comfortable using AI tools as part of your day-to-day workflow — for research, analysis, synthesis, and drafting; we expect fluency, not occasional use
  • Strong written and spoken English; French strongly preferred given the profile of our client base
  • Must be eligible to work in the Schengen area (EU/EEA) without visa sponsorship

Compensation

Base salary: €45,000 – €50,000 gross per annum.
Performance bonus: target up to €15,000 per annum, tied to client outcomes and individual contribution.
What a boutique offers that no large firm can is the directness of the impact: the work you produce here shapes real clients and a real practice, not a pipeline of internal decks. Growth is not cohort-driven — it is determined by what you deliver.

Freelance — Open now

Consultant — Human & Digital Engagement

Apply by email
Remote-first · field research at client operations Ongoing · freelance English required · additional languages a plus Hospitality experience preferred

The role

The hospitality industry is deploying technology at a pace that consistently outstrips its understanding of how guests, employees, and managers actually interact with it. We are looking for an anthropologist — or someone with equivalent training in human behaviour, ethnography, or human-computer interaction — to bring rigorous behavioural research to questions the industry has largely been answering with surveys and assumption. This is a freelance engagement.

What you will do

  • Conduct structured observation and qualitative research at hospitality operations to understand how digital interfaces are actually experienced by guests and staff
  • Identify friction points, behavioural barriers, and unintended consequences of technology deployment in real operational environments
  • Develop frameworks for evaluating the human dimension of automation and digitisation decisions
  • Contribute to client recommendations on how technology should be designed and implemented to align with actual human behaviour, not idealised use cases
  • Ensure the human dimension is integrated into every engagement — not treated as a secondary consideration

Who we are looking for

  • Academic or professional background in anthropology, ethnography, human-computer interaction, behavioural science, or a closely related discipline
  • Experience conducting qualitative research in operational environments — hospitality experience strongly preferred
  • Able to translate research findings into practical implications for operators, asset managers, and investors
  • Comfortable with the ambiguity and pace of a consulting environment
  • English required; French, Arabic, or other languages relevant to our geographic footprint are an advantage

Details

  • Format: Freelance / retained engagement
  • Location: Remote-first; some travel required for field research at client operations
  • Engagement model: Project-by-project or ongoing retainer, depending on the arrangement
